This site/blog is an effort to learn more about forestry, the environment and especially increasing the scant woodland cover of Ireland. More to the point, planting native trees on under utilised public land throughout the country. Of course increasing the number of trees on your own property is highly desirable too.

The main aims are as follows;

  1. To encourage the planting of native Irish trees on underutilised public land
  2. To be a record of all our forestry related activity, from seed collection and forest visits to planting trees and attending events
  3. To record the activity of any people that send us in information on their collection and planting exploits
  4. To act as a journal for our journey of education and discovery in the areas of Foresty, biodiversity, conservation and related fields
  5. To be a place for like-minded people to exchange ideas and advice
  6. To republish news of interest about forestry, the environment, the natural world, Guerrilla gardening (and other similar movements) and conservation
